As part of an alarming trend, more and more students are getting left behind when they first enter college. A recent survey from Achieve.org found that only 14% of college professors felt that high schools were doing an adequate job of preparing students.

Even more concerning is that over half of students that start at a public university don’t finish their degrees on time. That’s more than $10,000 per semester, and that’s on the low end!

The goal of this course is to introduce students to a wide variety of topics they need to thrive in college. We understand that the transition is not just academic; there’s a huge social component too, not to mention the pressure for students to make college feel like the greatest time of their lives.

Though the course is geared towards high school students and incoming college freshmen, the material includes valuable life skills like time and money management, conflict resolution, dealing with new social situations, and more. The benefit of learning, practicing, and mastering the skills covered extend well into post-college life because they are universally proven.
